ibis Melbourne Hotel remains open through with a COVIDSafe Plan

As Greater Melbourne wakes up to Stage 4 restrictions’ enforcement, ibis Melbourne Hotel & Apartments remains lawfully open and committed to support those in need through these tough times.

Accor, alongside the whole hospitality sector, has had to face the dramatic consequences of the global Covid-19 crisis. But throughout, Accor has demonstrated dedication to some of its most important values of welcoming and protecting. Taking care of others is in our DNA.

It is this DNA that has allowed us to shelter hundreds of fellow Victorians facing hardships and finding themselves without a roof above their heads. The evanescent disposition of weary resulting from such circumstances can be extremely discomforting and we want our guests to know that they can fall back on us through it all.

Ibis Melbourne Hotel & Apartments is now accredited ALLSAFE; a new certification label guaranteeing that measures have been put in place to protect the safety and security of our customers during their stay. ALLSAFE meets global hygiene and prevention measures developed and approved by Bureau Veritas, a global leader in inspection, certification and laboratory trials. Together with AXA medical solutions, this certification label enables hotels to adapt to new customer safety requirements. Our COVIDSafe plans at ibis Melbourne enable us to adhere to the high standards set by these ALLSAFE protocols.

Some examples of criteria set out under ALLSAFE include: Professional cleaning and disinfecting high touch points, staff wearing adequate PPE including Medical-grade face masks and gloves in all areas and enforcement of 1.5m social distance at all times.

Also we have ALLSAFE safety packs available for guests to buy at reception. All staff and guests will continue to sign a declaration upon arrival at the hotel each day, facilitating the tracking and tracing efforts in the event of an outbreak. The hotel management has undertaken appropriate planning for responding to communication from the Departments of Health, Law & Order, Justice and Enforcement and all other local authorities, in the event a guest or staff member becomes a close contact to a known case.

Until the Stage 4 Restrictions aren’t lifted, we remain open to only those stays permitted by the State Government of Victoria, including Victorians without a permanent residence. We look forward to welcoming our ALL guests again, hopefully soon.
